Team Rules
Team Operations
Section titled “Team Operations”Since the start of this project becoming public, thebosst has assumed the role of team leader. That means, thebosst:
- Needs to assign/manage/organize the tasks people work on
- Ensures that they provide the team with support when needed, and
- Make sure that the team hits the deadlines & Milestones.
That’s why thebosst will try to check in with people and ensure that they’re doing well/working on tasks. And that’s also why we encourage updating the team in the Discord, or on your GitHub issue so that thebosst & everyone else knows the progress & state of the team.
What does this mean for you?
Section titled “What does this mean for you?”- Keep thebosst updated on your tasks, either through Discord or the GitHub issue (so they know what you’re doing)
- Stick & commit to your assigned tasks. This means once you have a task, actually see it through, and don’t abandon it without telling anyone.
- If you’ve realized that you cannot handle a task, or you need to discuss/adjust something, then we can happily talk about that (& I encourage that you come to me/your team lead ASAP!)
There will also be times when people have different ideas & opinions, and ultimately there will be a decision(s) that not everybody will agree with. We can have a difference of opinion, but that does not remove the fact that you need to respect other people’s decisions.
What does it mean to respect other people’s decisions?
Section titled “What does it mean to respect other people’s decisions?”- You need to accept (come to terms) with their decision
- Do not complain/fight over it
- Do not try to stir chaos (or go against their decision)
- NOTE: if anything above is seen in the Discord, I will simply delete their comments
If you cannot respect other people’s decisions, then we will simply not have you contribute (or accept) any tasks.
Language Used Within The Discord
Section titled “Language Used Within The Discord”- Don’t say stupid stuff. No racism, no bigotry, nothing about being better/above another person, etc.
- Don’t say or post anything sensitive (like politics) either (use common sense for this)
- We don’t really care about swearing, but if its avoidable lets avoid it (there seems to be some younger people in the server)
- If you can’t respect these rules, then you’re getting a few warnings, then kicked from the server if we see repeated intentional behaviour.
- Please only choose team roles from #roles if you want to help with the project
If you can’t respect these rules, then you’re getting a few warnings, then kicked from the server if we see repeated intentional behaviour.
DM’ing people
Section titled “DM’ing people”- Try to keep conversations within the server as much as possible
- We are not liable for any issues that occur via DMs
Team Structure/Management
Section titled “Team Structure/Management”thebosst has assigned certain people to be team leads. Team leads will need to do basically what the What does this mean for you? section says, but only for your team. This includes:
- Ensure people are busy & have tasks to do
- Ensure people are committing & progressing through tasks
- Ensure tasks are progressing in a timely manner (i.e. people aren’t stuck on them, & are actually working through them)
- Helping people out if needed (which includes making decisions & giving your opinions if needed)
- If there are any issues/questions that your team cannot answer, you talk to the appropriate team’s leader, and if they cannot answer, you come to me
- You will talk with thebosst on a regular basis about the tasks/progress (how your team is doing) so they stay updated. thebosst shouldn’t need to come to team members directly, but should be able to hear everything from you
Team leads will get the @Team Lead role (essentially Admin privilage). Team leads should also ensure that they keep the same name in the Discord. Basically, you can re-name yourself, but it still must contian your main name. (ex. TheBossT -> TheBossT | P3 Fan)
thebosst has assigned the current team leads below, based on a combination of their experience, how long they’ve been with the team, & their work ethic (that thebosst has seen). There is no application process for team lead, they are simply scouted & appointed by thebosst if the other person mutually agrees. Ultimately, being a team lead requires thebosst’s approval.
